Synopsis –

Panchayat Season 2 begins on a slow note. Rinki ( Sanvikaa ), Pradhan’s daughter is finally introduced. Closed circuit camera installation is sure to bring a smile on viewers’ faces through funny expressions and dialogs while Phulera village continues to experience rifts and political differences.

A large reservoir is being created which results in heaps of mud. Brij Bhushan Dubey, the Pradhan decides to sell the mud to Parmeshwar who has a brick factory. This time around he decides to sell the same at a higher price. Abhishek, Prahlad and Vinod second Pradhan’s decision. The task of negotiating the rate is given to the real Pradhan, Manju Devi who ultimately fails in her assignment. This is followed by trademark Panchayat light moments.

Yet another struggle which seeps into Phulera village is Bhushan’s revolt against the current Gram Panchayat office bearers, especially Abhishek. He calls him Brij Bhushan Dubey’s lackey. The allegation turns Abhishek thoughtful. One of the reasons for his frequent visits to Pradhan’s house appears to be Rinki. Unfortunately, by episode 4 Rinki’s engagement to a boy from a neighboring town is also called off.

Bhushan frequently challenges and threatens Pradhan for his failed election promise – of constructing a road between the village and the highway. Leveraging from this failure he tries to build a negative image of Brij Bhushan Dubey and Manju Devi. After a lot of debate and pondering, Pradhan decides to seek local MLA’s blessings and financial support. He meets him ( Pankaj Jha ) and puts forward his request. However, the MLA, a corrupt and ruthless politician demands several favors in lieu of financing the road construction. A series of negative events leads to hostility between the MLA and Pradhan, including Abhishek who is addressed with obscene word.

The growing closeness between Abhishek and Rinki, the lingering question of road construction, Prahlad’s emotional loss towards the end and Bhushan’s aspiration of becoming the new Pradhan are some of the threads which needs tying up, and will most probably be addressed in season 3.
